Our History
Haitian dance is not a performance alone — it is memory, resistance, joy, and identity in motion.

Bagèt Sant Dans Ayiti Inc was founded with a singular clarity: Haitian dance deserves to be valued in every dimension of life — on stage and off, in Haiti and across the diaspora, in schools and studios, in festivals and living rooms.

Born in Port-au-Prince, the organization grew out of years of grassroots work in Haitian communities, where artists and educators saw a gap between the richness of the culture and the lack of structured spaces for Haitian dance to flourish. From intimate ateliers and workshops to large-scale festivals and international residencies, Bagèt has built a network of practitioners and learners committed to keeping this art alive and evolving.

Today, with presence in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Bagèt Sant Dans Ayiti operates as a bridge — connecting Haitian communities in the diaspora to their cultural roots, and introducing new audiences around the world to the power and beauty of Haitian movement.
