MENTORSHIP

Long-term guidance for emerging Haitian dance artists — training the next generation of instructors, choreographers, and cultural ambassadors.

Long-Term Emerging Artists Cultural Transmission
The Mantorat Program

Passing Down
the Tradition.

The Mantorat mentorship program is Bagèt's most sustained commitment to the next generation. Through structured, long-term guidance from master instructors, emerging artists develop not only their technical skills but also their understanding of Haitian culture.

We are not just training dancers. We are training people who will teach, lead, and transmit this tradition to others — carrying it forward with the authority that comes from real grounding.

Mantorat Program — Training the Next Generation

What It Involves

Three Pillars
of Growth

01 Technical Development

One-on-one and small-group coaching in advanced Haitian dance technique — going deeper than what any open class can offer. Structured around each mentee's current level and goals.

02 Cultural Grounding

Deep study of the history, context, and living practice behind each movement form. Understanding why a tradition moves the way it does is inseparable from learning how to move within it.

03 Teaching & Facilitation

Training to become instructors and facilitators who can carry the tradition forward. Mentees learn how to hold space, structure a class, and transmit knowledge with clarity and cultural integrity.

100+

Artists, educators, and practitioners have been supported through Bagèt's programs since our founding in 2018. The Mantorat program is where that investment goes deepest.
